RARE EARTH MINERAL CLAY –  is a Montmorillonite clay that has almost 80 of the 84 minerals needed for vibrant life.  These minerals are bio-available, meaning they are naturally chelated and in a colloidal form (small enough to go through the skin); and besides minerals they contain fulvic and humic acids.  One molecule of fulvic acid will transport approximately 70 other mineral molecules through the skin.  Fulvic acid is necessary for the utilization of minerals in the body. Aloe Vera contains protein, calcium, magnesium, zinc, vitamins A, B12, E, essential fatty acids, and is naturally rich in amino acids and enzymes. We use both forms of aloe (Aloe Vera and Aloes Cape) to give you the full benefit of this miracle plant.    

APPLE CIDER VINEGAR –  is an effective natural bacteria fighting agent that contains many vital minerals and trace elements such as potassium, calcium, magnesium, phosphorous, chlorine, sodium, sulfur, copper, iron, silicon and fluorine which are vital for a healthy body. Can be used to cure skin conditions such as acne. Apple Cider Vinegar contains sulfur to fight the effects of aging. Many women have found that Apple Cider Vinegar can help reduce the appearance of cellulite.

BEE POLLEN – Your skin can become younger looking and less vulnerable to wrinkles, smoother and healthier with the use of bee pollen (both internally and externally). 

Not only does Bee Pollen help clear up acne conditions, it is also a great anti-aging food and ingredient for the skin due to its very high ORAC value (it absorbs damaging free radicals).

Due to its high content of Nucleic Acids (the building blocks of RNA and DNA), Bee Pollen will prevent premature aging of the cells and stimulate the growth of new skin tissues. When Bee Pollen penetrates the skin it automatically nourishes the cells and tissue beneath the skin. 

It can act as a moisturizer for dry skin and smooth wrinkles and creases.

BLADDERWRACK – Contains a large amount of fucoidan which was found to greatly increase the collagen in the skin. Significant improvements in elasticity were found when a Bladderwrack gel (1%) was applied topically onto human cheek skin twice daily for five weeks.  Bladderwrack also has good antioxidant effects.  Our proprietary extraction method is very effective for getting high levels of fucoidan in our product. 

COCOA POWDER (chocolate) – The polyphenols in chocolate are some of the most powerful antioxidants known - more powerful than those in red wine.  Those polyphenols give your skin the ability to repair damage from toxins and the sun. 

COFFEE – Coffee can help slough off dead skin and moisturize and keep cellulite at bay. Coffee packs a punch not just as a beverage but as a beauty aid too. It's been touted as a wrinkle buster, sun block, moisturizer, and as a salve for a host of other skin problems. Native women in South America have used ground coffee beans as part of their beauty regimen for thousands of years due to its exfoliating properties alone. Coffee also contains enzymes that stimulate detoxification. These enzymes activate the breaking down of fat and help smooth puffy looking skin. Coffee has the same pH balance as human skin, which is why it helps protect against acne and blemishes. It also has good cleansing properties.

DANDELION – Uses:  anemia, constipation, gallstones. kidney and liver disorders, jaundice, cirrhosis, hepatitis, and liver disease generally. We use it because of its anti-inflammatory properties.

KIGELIA – Contains iridoids, flavonoids, fatty acids, sterols, glycosides and napthoquinones.  Antibacterial activity has been shown against both gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria.  Strong anti-inflammatory activity due to the presence of specific COX 1 and 2 inhibitors, without showing the common side effects normally associated with this activity.  Also is clinically proven to improve firmness and elasticity of the skin between 50-70% by acting on the muscles.  Has a long history of use by the bushman of Africa for skin ailments from rashes all the way up to leprosy.  Is currently and has been studied for its effectiveness in reducing age spots especially solar keratoids.

FRANKINCENSE – Frankincense is used to rejuvenate the skin and has excellent cytophylactic properties (encourages the growth of skin cells) while being a good all-over skin tonic. It is also effective in healing sores, carbuncles, and wounds while reducing scaring and skin inflammation. The therapeutic properties of Frankincense essential oil in skincare include that of being, astringent, cytophylactic, diuretic, and tonic. 

We have included it in our skincare range because of its cytophylactic properties and because of the fact that it improves skin tone and skin condition. The inherent astringent qualities of this oil act as balancer to the skin and reduce any dry or oily skin condition - returning it to normal.

With all of these good therapeutic properties, it is a powerful ally in the fight to keep wrinkles at bay, while at the same time improving skin tone and overall quality of complexion regardless of age group.

GOTU KOLA – One of the many benefits of Gotu Kola includes its effectiveness in treating various skin conditions particularly in the treatment of cellulite and keloids. The hardening of connective tissue cells below the skin’s surface causes cellulite and Gotu Kola seems to be very effective in slowing down this process. The Gotu Kola herb is highly beneficial because it contains certain substances and properties that work on strengthening the toning effect on connective tissue.

GREEN TEA – Our tea comes from an organic tea garden at the base of the Himalayan Mountains. The quality is superb. Studies show that topical green tea formulations reduce sun damage. Green tea appears to exert sun damage protection by quenching free radicals and reducing inflammation. It also appears from studies to be effective for rosacea. One study, performed in 2003 by Dr. Stephen Hsu of the Medical College of Georgia Department of Oral Biology found that green tea was able to rejuvenate old skin cells that were at the end of their life cycle. Green tea also has a powerful anti-inflammatory effect. If your skin is very sensitive and often red, green tea extract will help soothe it. In addition to the benefits listed above, green tea catechins are anti-bacterial and can decrease hormone activity. This means green tea is an effective way to control acne, without the unpleasant side effects of benzoyl peroxide based creams.

RAW HONEY – Honey’s ability to absorb and retain moisture make it an ideal ingredient in many cosmetics since it helps keep skin hydrated and fresh (prevents drying). From the historical record, women (and perhaps men) interested in preserving their beauty have been known to regularly apply a mixture of honey and milk to the face to keep the skin young-looking, radiant, and smooth. Honey's natural antioxidant and anti-microbial properties help to protect the skin from the damage of the sun's rays. Honey also supports the skin's ability to rejuvenate and refresh depleted skin. Honey also absorbs impurities from the pores on the skin, making it an ideal cleansing agent.

JOJOBA OIL –  What’s interesting about it is that it isn’t actually oil, but rather what they call a wax ester. Why do we care? Because out of all of the compounds in nature, this wax ester is the most similar to human skin oil (sebum). It is theorized that applying jojoba to the skin can “trick” the skin into thinking it is producing enough oil, thus balancing oil production.

LEMONGRASS – Considered by herbalists to have several useful properties, including antibacterial and antifungal. Researchers demonstrated that lemongrass was effective against 22 strains of bacteria and 12 types of fungi. It’s helpful with chronic acne, and as an antiseptic and astringent. Essential oil of lemongrass is used by some to cleanse oily skin and help close pores.

MACA – Peruvian maca root is amazingly rich in amino acids, phytonutrients, fatty acids, vitamin and minerals. Peruvian maca root has an abundance of trace minerals, and even some that scientists have not yet classified. Maca root is truly a powerhouse of nutrition, energy, and life giving ingredients. Scientists have discovered that Peruvian maca root has the ability to regulate, support, and balance the hormonal systems of both men and women for optimal function. One of the very great things about Peruvian maca root is that it is not "gender specific" specifically that it works equally well at balancing hormonal benefits for both sexes.

Like ginseng, Peruvian maca root is an adaptogen, and even though Peruvian maca root is not in the ginseng family, it shares many similarities with ginseng. Adaptogens are by definition substances that raise the physical body's state of resistance to diseases through physiological health and emotional health improvements.

 OLIVE OIL – Olive Oil contains polyphenol compounds that act as antioxidants to help prevent and repair damage to the skin caused by purposeful or accidental sun exposure. This skin damage is related to the destructive activity of free oxygen related radicals produced by skin cells. Polyphenolic components of olive oil have been compared to traditional antioxidants such as tocopherols used by the cosmetic and pharmaceutical industry to prevent skin damage. Many studies have shown that polyphenols promote smooth and radiant complexions, help maintain elasticity of skin, and help heal dry and brittle nails and soften cuticles. Olive oil is high in antioxidants, including vitamin E.

ORANGE PEEL – This fruit belongs to the citrus family and is best known for its astringent and toning properties. Rub fresh orange peel on your skin to tighten it and lighten the color.

PAU D’ ARCO – The tea has been used to treat a variety of conditions as varied as malaria, infections and leukemia. It has a long history of use for skin problems mainly due to its anti-inflammatory capacity. Researchers have isolated over 20 active chemicals in pau d'arco. Research, mainly on laboratory animals, has shown pau d'arco to have anti-microbial, anti-viral, and anti-parasite properties.

PEPPERMINT LEAF – Peppermint, when applied topically, has a soothing and cooling effect on skin irritations. Some research suggests peppermint and other mint oils (such as menthol) may actually work to dissolve foreign particles within body tissue. Organic Peppermint Leaf contains bio-flavonoids and exhibits antioxidant activity.

ROSEMARY – Rosemary is recommended by many authorities for its cell regenerating powers. Its supreme skin regenerative and wound healing properties make Rosemary especially useful for treating chronic skin conditions, dermatitis, eczema, and psoriasis.

Acne prone skin may respond favorably to the renewing effects of Rosemary as well as to its action to fight infection and promote glandular balance and function.

Its skin nourishing action makes it ideal for dry and mature skin.

SPIRULINA – Contains the most remarkable concentration of nutrients known in any food, plant, grain, or herb: it's the highest protein food (over 60% digestible vegetable protein), has the highest concentration of beta carotene, vitamin B-12, iron and trace minerals, and the rare essential fatty acid GLA (which is really important for your skin). Spirulina is the richest Beta Carotene food, with a full spectrum of ten mixed carotenoids. They work synergistically to enhance antioxidant protection. 

SUMA – South American Natives have used suma for wounds and skin rashes for centuries. Researchers have identified suma to contain a wide array of amino acids, many trace minerals including iron, magnesium, cobalt, silica, zinc, vitamins A, B1, B2, B6, and E. It also contains high amounts of the trace element germanium which is important for skin renewal. 

VITAMIN C – Vitamin C is an essential component for collagen synthesis. Without adequate vitamin C, the collagen in your skin would be malformed and your skin and gums would not heal properly. WHITE OAK BARK – The active constituents in oak bark are tannins and quercetin. Tannins play an important role in nutrition. They bind with the proteins of tissues and enhance skin defense against bacterial invasion and infection. 

White Oak also contains the minerals manganese, potassium, magnesium, calcium, iron, and zinc. It is one of the strongest natural astringent herbs (it strengthens blood vessels and tightens tissues).

WITCH HAZEL – traditionally been used for the treatment of wounds, itchy and dry skin and bleeding. It has also been used to treat inflamed eyes. Witch hazel does in fact contain high levels of tannin, which is an astringent, hence it's long association as a skin treatment.
